- To analyze Corporate Laws including the Companies Act, the Indian Partnership Act and the Limited Liability Partnership Act, and other related corporate legislations, along with the Rules, Regulations, Guidelines, Notifications, Schemes and Schedules issued thereunder, vis-à-vis best global practices, with a view to promote ease of doing business, and to make appropriate representations/suggestions to the concerned Ministries of Government while participating in and facilitating the Law-making process.
- To provide support to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs or other Regulators/ Government Departments/Authorities in implementation of the initiatives taken by them.
- To analyze various aspects relating to Corporate Laws and Corporate Governance, either suo- motu or as referred by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs or other Regulators/ Government Departments/ Authorities, and to submit appropriate suggestions thereon for strengthening regulatory and governance frameworks.
- To undertake study on the aspects relating to Corporate Laws and Corporate Governance related to the functioning of the offices of the Registrar of Companies (ROC), Official Liquidators (OL), Regional Directorates (RDs) through institutional studies or through study and review of specific cases to improve regulatory processes and stakeholder facilitation.
- To undertake study initiatives on key aspects of Corporate Laws and Corporate Governance across emerging areas and legislative developments.
- To bring out E-Newsletters/ Publications/ Books/ Guidance Notes/ Application Guides/ White Papers/ Background Material/ Commentaries/ Advisories on subjects relating to Corporate Laws and Corporate Governance.
- To facilitate training to Government authorities/Training academies/universities/management institutes/ business schools to members/stakeholders in corporate laws & other related areas for capacity building and professional excellence.
- To conduct Certificate Courses/organize National Conferences/Programs/Workshops/ Seminars/ Training programmes/ Refresher Courses/Residential Refresher Courses in the areas of Corporate Laws and/or Corporate Governance either by the Committee itself or in association with other Committee and/or Ministries/ industry associations/chambers of commerce/ other bodies /organizations and Corporate sector for knowledge dissemination and industry engagement.
- To encourage appropriate level of corporate governance, assisting in laying down benchmarks, pro-actively conduct research about the difficulties/problems being faced by Corporate Sector in view of globalization also help government, Corporates/other entities to meet the expectation of society/their stakeholders in fulfilling Social responsibilities.
- To promote Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility practices in enterprises including Public sectors.
- To constitute Study Groups, as considered necessary, for development of publications, research papers, certificate courses, study materials on subjects relating to corporate laws and governance.
- To interact with various relevant bodies including Ministries of Government, industry associations, chambers of commerce on various areas relating to Corporate Laws and Corporate Governance and to provide inputs/representations where considered necessary.
