To develop and strengthen specialised professional competence among members of the Institute in the areas of accounting, auditing, taxation, governance, compliance, and advisory services relating to Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) and Co-operative entities.
To enable and equip members to render professional services to NPOs, Co-operatives, Co-operative Banks, Credit Societies, Mutually Aided Co-operative Societies, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Cluster Level Federations, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and other allied institutions.
To develop, recommend, and disseminate accounting guidance, technical standards, best practices, and sector-specific frameworks, including the development of training modules, to promote uniformity, transparency, and robustness in accounting and financial reporting in the NPO and Co-operative sectors.
To promote good governance practices, ethical conduct, effective internal control systems, sound financial management, and accountability mechanisms, particularly for organisations receiving government grants or public funds.
To provide technical inputs and guidance on statutory compliance, documentation, utilisation of funds, and reporting requirements applicable to NPOs and Co-operatives.
To develop, publish, and update Technical Guides, Background Notes, Study Reports, Handbooks, FAQs, Commentaries, training modules, and other reference material relevant to the NPO and Co-operative sectors, and to create and maintain sector-specific knowledge resources.
To organise seminars, workshops, conferences, certificate courses, and awareness programmes for members of the Institute and for office-bearers, trustees, board members and management of NPOs and Co-operatives with a view to enhancing awareness and understanding of governance, financial management, and regulatory requirements.
To study and examine laws, rules, regulations, schemes, and policies affecting the NPO and Co-operative sectors and to make appropriate representations and recommendations to Central and State Governments, regulators, and other authorities.
To assist Governments and public bodies by providing technical inputs, research support, and advisory services for ensuring financial discipline and effective implementation of welfare and development schemes through NPOs and Co-operatives.
To collaborate with Central and State Governments, regulators, national and international organisations, academic institutions, and development agencies for joint studies, training programmes, and other sectoral initiatives, and to support the implementation of Government initiatives and social welfare programmes through professional engagement.
