Sustainability Reporting Standards Board
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
2nd June, 2022
Invitation for Expression of Interest for suggestions on Social Impact Assessment indicators

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is the second largest professional body of Chartered Accountants in the world, with a strong tradition of service to the Indian economy in public interest. As one of the steps towards partnering in nation building, ICAI has constituted Sustainability Reporting Standards Board (SRSB) in February 2020 with the mission to bring sustainability reporting and thinking within mainstream business practices both in the public and private sectors. Since inception, the Board has taken various initiatives and is working persistently for contribution towards attainment of the global call of sustainability by increasing awareness and implementing measures to improve sustainability.

As you may be aware, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is in the process of establishing Social Stock Exchange for listing social enterprises and voluntary organizations. The “Technical Group on Social Stock Exchange” constituted by SEBI on September 21, 2020, in its report has provided an illustrative list of 15 areas and sub-areas for taxonomic classification of social objectives. The Report of the said Technical Group is available at https://www.sebi.gov.in/reports-and-statistics/reports/may-2021/technical-group-report-on-social-stock-exchange_50071.html .

Recognizing the fact that ICAI as a Statutory body has the experience and expertise and core competence to regulate the Auditors with necessary infrastructure, the responsibility of developing Social Audit Standards is given to ICAI by SEBI.

We would like to invite suggestions on Social Impact Assessment indicators in the aforesaid Areas / Sub-areas. We would request you to please fill up the Google form (web-link provided below for reference) to help us collate the necessary information. https://forms.gle/LCxysbtQBPTBDqfw6
