October 10th, 2006
The Board of Studies has been endevouring to bring out various publications from time to time to facilitate the students in preparing them for their final examination in various courses. For the new curriculum of Common Proficiency Test, the Board has already hosted on its web site one Model Test Paper covering all the subjects to familiarize the students with the pattern of the examination. We hope that the students must have solved this test paper. The Board has now released a booklet containing ten Model Test Papers comprising of 2000 objective type questions. Each Model test paper is divided into four sections. Section A relates to Fundamentals of Accounting carrying 60 marks. Section B relates to Mercantile Law carrying 40 marks. Sections C and D relate to General Economics and Quantitative aptitude respectively carrying 50 marks each. All the papers have been carefully designed so as to expose students to all types of questions such as one line statement questions, fill in the blanks, numerical based questions, table based questions, paragraph based questions and diagram based questions.
Students are advised to answer each of these test papers under examination conditions. They should attempt Section A and Section B in first two hours. After a break. Section C and Section D should be attempted in next two hours. The answer sheet should then be assessed consulting the answers given at the end of the Booklet. Student should award one mark for each correct answer, and deduct 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The same procedure should be followed for all ten test papers. The students will be able to evaluate their performance by this process.
The downloadable soft copy of the Booklet is available free of cost on “Students/New scheme of Education and Training/Common Proficiency Test/Model Test Papers”. The printed version of the Booklet will be available from 20th October, 2006.
