Classroom (Physical)/ Virtual Certificate Course on Business Consulting Skills

Skill Enrichment of Chartered Accountants encompasses several vital attributes, including identifying one's skill gaps and enabling one to develop those skills to achieve their goal. In other words, it refers to systematic and sustained efforts toward improving one's ability to perform Professional activities. In this Background, the Committee decided to come out with a Certificate Course on Business Consulting Skills. This certificate course in Professional Skills is essential to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. It provides targeted training to enhance competencies and empowers individuals with practical skills and credentials to advance their Professional portfolio. Launching such a program responds to the increasing need for specialized expertise in today's competitive Business Environment. With a view to disseminating knowledge in the Business Consulting arena, the Professional Skills Enrichment Committee(PSEC), ICAI come up with the Certificate Course on Business Consulting Skills for Members of ICAI. This course is intended to equip Chartered Accountants to enrich their Business Consultancy Skills to enhance their portfolio.

1. Eligibility: Members of ICAI

2. Total Number of offline/ Online Classroom Interactions: 5 Days (Offline)/ 10 days (online). Classes will be on weekends/Weekdays.

3. Attendance: 80% attendance is required to appear in the Final Test. However, the Chairman of the committee has the discretion for a minimum waiver of days/hours in exceptional cases.

4. CPE Hours: The CPE credit of 30 Hours will be given to the participants. 25 CPE hours can be allotted for completion of 80% attendance, and a balance of 5 CPE hours will be awarded after the Assessment Test.

5. Methodology of teaching: Apart from the comprehensive theoretical aspects, this course will sharpen the expertise and excellence of our members through case studies. Participants will have to undergo a test at the end of the course to get a completion certificate.

6. Faculty: Faculty will be drawn from the practicing fraternity, members, and other academicians from the field who have in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in the subject.

7. Fees: For Members: Rs 12,000/- plus GST(Offline); For Members: Rs 4500/- plus GST (Online)

8. Medium of Classroom Session (Virtual/Physical)/ Assessment: Classroom Session (Virtual/Physical)/ Assessment Test will be conducted in English Medium only.

9. Features of the Assessment Test:
  • The Assessment Test will be conducted in Online/Offline Mode only
  • The question Paper of the Assessment Test will contain 50 objective-type multiple-choice questions for 100 marks.
  • There will NOT be negative marking for wrong answers
  • The duration of the examination will be of 1½ hours
10. Passing Criteria of the assessment test
  • The minimum mark for passing the Assessment Test is 50 out of 100 i.e. 50% of Marks secured in the Assessment Test.
  • The candidates who successfully pass the Assessment Test will be eligible to get the Online/ Offline Certificate subject to the online/offline conduction of the certificate course.
11. Course Benefits: Business consulting course equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to analyze business problems, develop strategic solutions, and manage consulting projects. This course also offers practical experience through case studies.
