The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), a statutory body established under an Act of Indian Parliament namely, Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 for regulating the profession of Chartered Accountancy in the country had aimed at developing a base of expertise and specialized skills amongst the Membership of the Institute in various agreements of WTO and equip them with technical competence to understand and respond effectively to the complex milieu of trade laws that operate under the aegis of World Trade Organization, launched a Post Qualification Course in International Trade Laws and WTO (ITL & WTO) for its Members namely, the Chartered Accountants.

In view of rapid developments taking place in this dynamic field of International Trade Laws and WTO, the Institute intends to revise/update study material for the following papers of the course:-
  • Introduction to International Trade
  • GATT, Rules of Origin and Trade Related Agreements
  • GATS, TRIPS and TRIMS, SPS and Dispute Settlement and Review Procedures in WTO
  • Domestic Trade Laws
  • Anti-dumping, Anti-subsidy and Safeguards - Laws and Practice
  • Competition Laws and Policies
The Committee on Economic, Commercial Laws & WTO is presently looking for experts having experience in the relevant areas for preparing the drafts of the study materials.
