Increase in the no. of Structured CPE hours being granted in online mode from 10 CPE hours to 15 CPE hours and extension of last date for completion of 15 Structured CPE hours through Digital Learning Hub or Virtual CPE Meetings from 31st August, 2020 to 31st October, 2020

This has reference to earlier announcement dated 10.08.2020 available at https://www.icai.org/post.html?post_id=16516 informing that out of 20 Structured CPE hours which is mandatory to be completed by Members below 60 years holding COP, in each calendar year, 10 Structured CPE hours can be granted through online mode (either through Digital Learning Hub or through above Virtual CPE meetings including mandatory CPE hours on “Code of ethics” and “Standard on auditing”) till 31st August, 2020.

As all are aware that due to COVID-19 situation worldwide, the public gatherings are still restricted, therefore, the CPE Directorate was receiving requests from various POUs and members for extension of the last date for completing Structured CPE hours in online mode (through Digital Learning Hub or Virtual CPE Meetings/Refresher course) as presently allowed till 31.08.2020 and also for increasing the limit for no. of Structured CPE hours being granted in online mode from 10 hours as allowed in present situation for Calendar year 2020.

The Council, on recommendations of the CPE Directorate has decided to increase the no. of Structured CPE hours being granted in online mode as above from 10 hours to 15 hours and also the last date for its completion through Digital Learning Hub or Virtual CPE Meetings has been extended till 31.10.2020.

Accordingly, following may be noted for information and compliance by members, CPE POUs and other stakeholders:-

“Out of 20 hours Structured CPE hours which is mandatory to be completed by Members below 60 years holding COP, in each calendar year, 15 Structured CPE hours could be granted through online mode (either through Digital Learning Hub or through Virtual CPE meetings including mandatory CPE hours on “Code of ethics” and “Standard on auditing”) till 31st October, 2020.” To clarify, if a member has earned more than 15 Structured CPE hours through Digital learning Hub and/or VCMs till 31st October, 2020, for compliance purpose, only 15 Structured CPE hours will be credited.
