The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India conducts Advanced Information Technology (IT) test for CA students who have qualified CA Intermediate Examination and completed 15-days Advanced Information Technology Training. The students are required to complete the Advanced IT training and test before appearing in the CA Final Examination.

Students are required to secure a minimum of 40 marks in order to qualify the test. There is no negative marking. For each correct answer, the candidate obtains one mark.

With a view to develop the Question Bank for Advanced IT, it has been decided to invite MCQs from Chartered Accountants/ experts working in various organizations/ institutions/ universities. While sending the contributions, the contributor may strictly follow the below guidelines:

  • Each MCQ must have four options as A, B, C and D, out of which only one should be the correct answer. There should be no ambiguity in the question as well as the correct answer.
  • The correct answer and the source of the question (Module, Unit and Page Number of the study material where the relevant concept is present) be specified for each question.
  • The options would be shuffled during the examination. Accordingly, there should be no interdependent options such as “All of the above”, “None of the above”, “Both A and B”, etc.
  • It is also essential that proper care is taken while framing the MCQs and their options. The options should be close ones making it compulsory for the students to have a thorough knowledge of the concept to answer the MCQ.
  • The copyright of the MCQs so submitted shall vest with the Council of the Institute.
  • The contributor of the questions shall ensure that the questions so submitted to the Institute are not shared by him/her with any other person/ institution and shall be meant only for exclusive use by the Council of the Institute.
  • The MCQs should be original and not already published in some books/ journals or study material of the Institute or reference/ text books available in the market or also not taken from question papers of any other examinations or material distributed by any coaching institution.

For the above contribution, an honorarium of Rs.500/- shall be paid for each MCQ selected by the review panel of the Institute. The decision of the Institute regarding the selection of MCQs shall be final and binding.

All correspondence in this regard shall be treated as highly confidential by ICAI as well as the contributor.
