As you may aware that at present, 4 Structured CPE hours out of 20 mandatory Structured CPE hours is allowed to be completed either through Digital Learning Hub/VCMs or attending the physical cum virtual CPE event in online mode for Calendar year 2022.

Though the impact of COVID-19 pandemic is easing out and public gathering is being allowed in phased manner even then we all should follow enough preventive measures to contain spread of various COVID variants. Therefore, the CPE Committee felt that there should be an increase in grant of Structured CPE hours in online mode for Calendar Year 2022, to avoid any hardship to members while completing their respective CPE Hours’ Requirements.

We are happy to inform that it has been decided by the Council of ICAI that out of 20 hours Structured CPE hours which is mandatory to be completed by Members below 60 years holding COP, in each calendar year, 8 Structured CPE hours can be granted through online mode (either through Digital Learning Hub or through above Virtual CPE meetings including mandatory CPE hours on “Code of ethics” and “Standard on auditing”) for Calendar year 2022. This shall be applicable from 1.7.2022 onwards i.e. members who have already earned 8 or more Structured CPE hours in online mode (through VCM/DLH) till 30.06.2022 will get credit on actual basis subject to maximum of 20 Structured CPE hours for the Calendar year 2022.

Structured CPE hours obtained in online mode (through VCM/DLH) over and above as allowed in above point shall continue to be counted as Unstructured CPE Hours for compliance purpose. However, total Structured CPE hours obtained in physical mode (apart from online mode) shall continue to be counted as Structured CPE Hours.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is mandatory to complete 2 Structured CPE Hours, each on the topics related to “Standards on Auditing” and “Code of Ethics” (total 4 Structured CPE Hours out of 20 Structured CPE Hours) during every Calendar year, from Calendar Year 2020 onwards in Online/Virtual mode for the Categories of members who are required to complete minimum 20 Structured CPE Hours in a Calendar year (COP Holder). This may be completed any time during the year.

The members who have completed their Unstructured Learning Activities (ULAs) but have not updated its details on the CPE Portal for Calendar year 2022 are requested to kindly claim the CPE Hours credit of unstructured learning Online by login on your CPE portal account at www.cpeicai.org.

We may further inform you that the updated status of CPE hours’ credits of respective member is available on CPE Portal under member’s login as per the attendance uploaded by the CPE POUs as on date. For viewing the status, members may login with their existing password or default credentials are as under:-
