Guidelines approved by the Executive Committee for setting up the WEB Site by the Regional Councils and their Branches

1. Branch Web Site and Name:

(a) The Regional councils and their Branches would have their own independent WEB Site.
(b) The name should be in '.org' category only. The names should be uniform. The Regional council should have its site by the name of www. (Name of Regional council)-icai.org. For example, the name of WEB Site of WIRC should be www.wirc-icai.org. Similarly, the name of a Branch WEB site should be www.wirc-icai.org. Similarly, the name of a Branch WEB Site should be www. (Location of the Branch)-icai.org. For example, the name of the WEB Site of Hyderabad branch should be www.hyderabad-icai.org


2. Designing

While designing and/or publishing the site, it would be the responsibility of the Regional council and the Managing Committee of the Branch concerned that the guidelines applicable for bringing out newsletter are followed strictly. Since, the site would be open for viewing by non-members also, it would be ensured that the design and contents are within the parameters of Code of Conduct.


3. Contents

The Regional Councils and Branches might include the following in their respective site:-


  • The Newsletter published by the respective Regional Council or the Branch. While doing so, it should be ensured that no advertisements/ appearing in the Newsletter should be published in the site. Photographs appearing in the Newsletter or otherwise should not be published in the WEB site.

  • Archives of Newsletters, subject to (a) above.

  • Papers presented by the members at various Conferences/ Seminars etc., without any photograph (with due disclaimer.)

  • Articles on Subjects of professional interest to members and students, without any photograph (with due disclaimer).

  • Members Directory. While publishing the same, it should be ensured that the particulars should be strictly in accordance with those published by the Institute in the List of Members. The Regional Councils and the Branches may in addition publish the Telephone/s, Fax and E-Mail addresses of Members. In case of members enrolled after the date of the list of members, the particulars of such members be added from the list of new enrolments to be obtained from concerned Decentralised Offices of the Institute.

  • Details of programmes to be conducted by the Regional Council or the Branch.

  • Announcements issued by the Council from time to time.

  • Members related useful information on technical, regulatory and procedural matters.

  • Members related Announcements.

  • Students related Announcements.

  • Links to the Institute's site and other Regional Councils' and Branches' site.

  • No other information should be published without the prior written approval of the Executive Committee. In case deviations are found, permission to have WEB Site could be withdrawn by the Executive Committee.

  • The Regional councils and Branches should identify a person who should be responsible for maintenance and updation of the SITE.

  • A disclaimer at a prominent place on the first page of the site should be published by the Regional councils and Branches to the effect that the views expressed in the articles or contents published on the WEB site do not necessarily represent the views of or bears the approval of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or any of its Ciommittees or the concerned Regional or its Committees or Branch Managing Committee or Committees. 4. Discussion Forum:

The site might also set up chat facilities with the presence of Chat/ WEB Master so that members could conduct online discussions on specific topics at pre-appointed time which should be announced well in advance. Discussion forum could also be set up. However, on the Discussion forum queries and replies would be received by E Mail and screened by the WEB Master. The queries and replies should not be directly posted on Discussion Forum. The WEB Master would have the authority to reject or modify the query or reply.


5. Costs.

The WEB site be created by the Regional Councils and Branches should be on self supporting basis. In other words, neither financial grant would be given by the Institute nor will the relevant cost be funded by reserves of Regional Council/ Branch under any other head.


6. Advertisements

Publishing advertisement/s on the WEB site is also permitted within the overall guidelines prescribed for acceptance of advertisements for Regional Council/ Branch Newsletter.
