The Rajkot Branch of WIRC of ICAI jointly with Rajkot Branch of WICASA under the aegis of Board of Studies hosted a National Conclave for CA students on 13th and 14th December, 2014 at VVP Engineering College Auditorium, Kalawad Road, Rajkot with the theme “Astoma Sadgamaya (Lead us from Unreality to Reality)”. This Mega Event was attended by around 520 from students across the Nation.

On 13th December, 2014, the Conclave was inaugurated by our Chief Guest Shri Mohan Jha, IPS, Hon’ble Commissioner of Police, Rajkot. Other dignitaries present for the occasion were CA. Nihar Jambusaria, Central Council Member, CA. Jay Chhaira, Central Council Member, CA. Abhishek Doshi, Chairman, Rajkot Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA. Khushboo Ganatra, Chairperson, Rajkot Branch of WICASA, CA. D K Patel, Past Chairman, Rajkot Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA. Sharad Anada, Past Chairman, Rajkot Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA. Chetan Gajera, Imm. Past Chairman, Rajkot Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA. Niketa Mody, Vice Chairperson, Rajkot Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA. Hardik Vyas, Ex-Offico, Rajkot Branch of WICASA. The lightening of the lamp by the Chief Guest along with dignitaries had marked the blissful start of the auspicious occasion.

The two day National Conclave was spread into four (4) Technical Sessions on various topics of relevance and two (2) Special Motivational Sessions on. Total 8 students had presented their papers in the above Technical Sessions, out of which two (2) were awarded the Best Paper with equal merit, under the expert judgment of CA. Sharad Anada, Past Chairman, Rajkot Branch of WIRC of ICAI. Due to unavoidable circumstances, in the absence of Chairman and Vice Chairman of Board of Studies, CA. Nihar Jambusaria, Central Council Member and Member, Board of Studies took the Interactive session of Board of Studies.

The four (4) Technical Sessions were on the subjects of Direct Taxation, Corporate Law & Audit, Financial Management and Financial Reporting; the session chairmen being CA. Nihar Jambusaria, Central Council Member, CA. Dhinal Shah, Central Council Member, CA. Pradip Modi and CA. N. P. Sarda, Hon’ble Past President, ICAI respectively.

The first special session on How to be efficient communicator and Charismatic Leadership was taken by CA. Jay Chhaira, Central Council Member and second special session on Art of Professionalism was taken by well-known trainer from the Faculty Development Programme of ICAI, Prof. Shannon Chavan-Roque from Mumbai. A Special Address was also done by CA. Tarun Ghia, Central Council Member on the topic of “Roadmap for a successful CA student: Some Do’s and Don’ts” in the Valedictory Session.

The entire event was successfully managed by students. They were managing the stage, handling the registration counters, back stage support, accommodation, boarding & lodging, travel and all other areas were taken care of by the students with the help of Members.

The Conclave not only provided the students an opportunity to express themselves by presenting technical papers in presence of highly acclaimed dignitaries but also aimed at providing a platform for CA Students to learn and discuss topics of professional importance and to exchange ideas, share views and renew contacts.

Apart from learning there was a sparkling Cultural evening, carried on and performed by CA Students. The Conclave concluded with Vote of Thanks from Mr. Bhavik Pandit, Vice Chairman, Rajkot Branch of WICASA.

We are sure that the National Conclave was fruitful, enlightening and an educative experience for all the participants and that they enjoyed a feast of knowledge. The entire event was successful due to the team work and untiring efforts of around 30 Students and many CA members. The entire event was widely covered by the local print and electronic media.
