Direct Taxes Committee of ICAI is organizing a LIVE Webcast on “Direct Tax - Vivad se Vishwas Bill, 2020” on 16th March 2020 (Monday) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at ICAI, HO, New Delhi.

As you are kindly aware that the ‘Vivad se Vishwas’ Bill was announced during the Union Budget, 2020, to provide for dispute resolution in respect of pending income tax litigation. Pursuant to the Budget announcement, it was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 5th of February, 2020 and passed by it on 4th of March, 2020. The objective of Vivad se Vishwas is to inter alia reduce pending income tax litigationand benefit taxpayers by providing them peace of mind, certainty and savings on account of time and resources that would otherwise be spent on the long-drawn and vexatious litigation process. CBDT vide Circular No.7/2020 dated 04.03.2020 has clarified several queries which have been received from the stakeholders by issuing frequently asked questions (FAQs).

It is pertinent to mention that ICAI, being a partner in nation building always plays a pivotal role. In order to facilitate the members in discharging their professional duties in a better and effective manner and to enable them to understand or resolve the issues & challenges being faced in the implementation & execution of the said scheme, and in order to facilitate stakeholders with equip relevant knowledge and issues on the subject, the Direct Taxes Committee of ICAI is organizing a LIVE Webcast on “Direct Tax - Vivad se Vishwas Bill, 2020” as per the following schedule:
