One-Day Train the Trainer Programme for prospective faculties for "Government & Public Financial Management Reforms: Local Self Government Perspective."

We are pleased to apprise you that the ICAI through its Committee on Public & Government Financial Management (CP&GFM) has been involved in the process of on-going accrual accounting reforms at the level of Local Bodies in the Country. The Committee primarily focuses on formulation of Accounting Standards for Local Bodies (ASLBs), capacity building of the finance officials of various tiers of Government in India by various means such as organizing workshops, developing relevant e-training modules etc.

In order to increase its faculty base and provide a well set platform to new aspirants to contribute as a faculty/expert in the area of accounting reforms in ULBs, the Committee is organizing a Train the Trainer Programme on “Government & Public Financial Management Reforms: Local Self Government Perspective.” which intends to equip the participants with an extensive understanding of the paradigm of Accounting Reforms pertaining to Local Bodies in India.

The programme is proposed to be organised at ICAI Bhawan, 122, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai on 24th December, 2019.

The topics for deliberations includes 'Accounting System – As prevalent in ULBs', Municipal Accounting Reforms in India, Transition from cash-based accounting to accrual-based accounting, Introduction to NMAM, Reconciliation procedures, Major Issues in transition, Role of Chartered Accountants as strategic contributors value adders to procedures & processes, Sustainability of Accounting Reforms and Use of Technology, Applicability of ASLBs, Preparation of the opening balance sheet & procedures for closing of the first financial statements of the ULB, etc.

In case, you are having relevant experience in Local Bodies, you are requested to fill up the Google form available at the https://bit.ly/2OQHcUN. Selected participants will be sent personal invitations for attending the said programme. The registration shall be done on first come first serve basis (seats limited to 40).

In this regard, the following points may please be noted: -

1. No fees would be charged from the participants. The Train the Trainer Programme is Non-residential in nature.
2. No reimbursement of conveyance expenses will be made.
3. The delegates attending the Train the Trainer Programme will be issued Participation Certificates by the CP&GFM.
4. Six CPE hrs will be provided to the Participants.
