Guidance Note on Accounting Treatment for Excise Duty

The Guidance Note recommends that the excise duty liability in respect of inventories of finished goods lying in bonded warehouse or in the factory should be provided for in the financial statements. The Guidance Note also suggests the method of estimating the excise duty liability and determines the auditor's responsibilities in relation to the same.
