The main objective in developing this proposal is to provide users of financial statements with more useful information about the expected credit losses on financial assets and on commitments to extend credit. This objective is addressed through the proposed model, which provides information about expected credit losses and changes in expectations about credit losses, and also requires a broader range of reasonable and supportable information to be used to determine expected credit losses.
