  • To act as a focal point for collating and analysing the developments nationally and internationally which may have a bearing on the Indian Chartered Accountancy profession and accounting sector as per WTO regime.

  • To suggest ways and means to address developments affecting the profession vis-à-vis role of institute and make appropriate recommendations for espousing the interest of the Indian Chartered Accountancy profession.

  • To suo moto analyse changing profile of the Accountancy Profession globally; its extrapolated impact on the regulatory structure(s) vis-à-vis role of other regulators/stakeholders and ICAI’s position in such an emerging context.

  • To recommend augmentation and initiation of such steps so as to take the Indian Chartered Accountancy Profession at a higher pedestal nationally and internationally.

  • To address such national developments which possibly affect the diminutive role of the profession and address them by making appropriate recommendations to other Committees/Council.

  • To keep close liaison with regulators, Central Government/State Government(s) so as to promote the positioning of the Indian Chartered Accountancy profession globally and empathise upon them the changing regulatory structure(s), other global developments which could be a positive role model for the Indian Chartered Accountancy profession.

  • To review and recommend measures for development and structural reforms interalia in administrative setup, procedures, human resources, infrastructure, training centres etc of the Institute for the overall enhancement of the profession.

  • To bring about position papers, documents and related reports in regard to the changing paradigm, national and international developments so as to play the crusadory role by information collection, dissemination, awareness by/amongst all stakeholders and acclimatizing the profession to such emerging developments.

  • To seek inputs from all Committees of ICAI on the issues concerning the profession.
