The Committee on Public Finance & Government Accounting of ICAI organized a Training Programme on the theme “Finance for Non Finance’’ for the officials of Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (IDPL) on 15th April 2015 at IDPL Corpoarte Office, Gurgaon. The Programme was inaugurated by Shri Praveen Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, IDPL.

All the key issues related to Financial Statements, Financial Analysis and Ratios, Cost Analysis and Profit Planning and Budgeting were taken up in detail by expert faculties.

CA. Kapileshwar Bhalla addressed the participants on the topics related to Financial Accounting and Management Accounting, Cash Flow Statements, Accounting Standards, Annual Report, Evaluation of Financial Statements, Financial Ratios etc.

CA. Parveen Kumar deliberated on the topic Cost Analysis and Profit Planning differentiating between Fixed Costs and Variable Costs, Relevance of Activity Based Costing and improving profitability through the use of Break-Even Analysis, Contribution Margin Analysis and Direct Costing in appropriate situations.

Last technical session was headed by Prof. P K Chaubey who discussed on the topics related to Budgeting – its analysis and types, Taking Financial Decisions and methods of evaluating and monitoring operating performance.

The programme was very interactive and fruitful and received positive feedback from the participants.
