Under the tutelage of Board of Studies of ICAI, Aurangabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI jointly with Aurangabad Branch of WICASA hosted a National Convention for CA Students on 19th& 20th December, 2014. The theme of the convention was “GYAN VAIVARNYA – Creative Vision through Diverse Knowledge”. The convention witnessed a participation of 1075 students and was held at CIDCO Natya Gruh, Aurangabad.

The formal inaugural session was graced by Chief Guests Sri Rishi Kumar Bagla, Leading Industrialist of the City, CA Shruti Shah- WIRC Secretary, CA S G Mundada – WICASA Chairman, CA Vijay Rathi, Chairman of Aurangabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA Renuka Deshpande, WICASA Chairperson, Aurangabad, CA Pankaj Kalantri, Secretary, Aurangabad Branch, Ms Anchal Mundra – Vice- Chairperson WICASA Aurangabad, Mr. Ankit Shah – Secretary WICASA Aurangabad. RCM CA Sarvesh Joshi, CA Rajesh Patil, CA Prasad Bhandari, CA Deepak Gupta was also present in inaugural session.

Out of more than 40 papers received from CA Students, 17 best papers were selected to present their paper in the Technical Sessions on the topics ranging from Companies Act, Direct Taxation and Towards Excellence. 6 students were also selected for a Panel Discussion on Importance of Effective Articleship.

The First Technical Session was on “Towards Excellence”, which was headed by CA. Anjani Kumar Sharma, Delhi. The session included topics like CA vs MBA, Opportunities in Civil Services and IT an important tool for Auditor.

After that there was a Panel Discussion where in students and the Session Chairman CA Nandkishor Malpani put forward their views on Articleship and the ways to make it more effective.

The next session was interaction with Board of Studies wherein CA Praful Chhajed - Vice Chairman BOS interacted with the students and handled their queries.

At the end of first day a cultural evening “Yuvarang” was organized wherein the CA Students showcased their talent in the form of dance, singing, etc.

The second day commenced with Technical Session on “Companies Act”. CA Yagnesh Desai chaired the session. Students gave presentation on Appointment of Directors, Comparison between old and new Act with regards to Accounts and Audit and Related Party Transactions.

Students recognized the importance of having a positive attitude through the special session taken by CCM CA Jay Chhaira on “Winning Attitude”. Lesson on attitude towards life was also grasped by the delegates present for the session.

The third technical session was held on ‘Direct Taxation chaired by CA. Vinod Gupta. Papers were presented on the topics like Taxation in Film Industry, TDS – conceptual framework and Domestic Transfer Pricing.

The Convention ended with Valedictory session which was graced by Chief Guest Vinod Gupta, CA Vijay Rathi, Chairman of Aurangabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI, WICASA Chairperson, Aurangabad, CA Renuka Deshpande CA Alkesh Rawka, Vice-Chairman of Aurangabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI ,CA Pankaj Kalantri, Secretary, Aurangabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI , WICASA Chairman, CA S G Mundada., Branch Treasurer CA Rohan Achaliya, CA Rajkumar Kothari, Immediate Past Branch Chairman were also present in Valedictory session.

The Convention got huge media publicity at almost all the big players of the print as well as TV media had widely Covered the entire event.
