Contribution to organization is Contribution to Society and Nation: CA Ved Jain

CA Ved Jain, President, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was invited as guest of honour and speaker, to address the employees of NHPC as part of their ongoing Lecture series to motivate employees. In this "NHPC Lecture Series" eminent personalities, who have made their marks in their respective fields are being invited for sharing their experiences with NHPC Executives for their motivation and achieving all-around excellence in life. In this Series during the year 2007 four lectures were conducted in which Sh. Tejendra Khanna, Lt. Governor of Delhi; Dr. Girija Vyas, a distinguished Politician and Chairperson, National Commission for Women; Swami Nikhilanand Ji, Spiritual Head of Chinmaya Mission, New Delhi, and Sh. Pratyush Sinha, Central Vigilance Commissioner, CVC, New Delhi were invited.
 
Sh. S K Garg CMD, NHPC and Director (Personnel), NHPC were also present on the occasion.
 
While addressing the employees CA Ved Jain, highlighted the importance of being disciplined and the role it can play to achieve greater excellence in working. A small tip he offered to employees for practicing which can go long way in making them more prudent in managing their finances is to maintain a diary and take account of all expenditures at the end of the month.
 
Shri Jain, acknowledged the growing economy of Indian in the world and the opportunities and challenges, it presents to the Indian professional. The president emphasized the role employees can play in building a strong economy as well as contributing to the society by being more focuses and committed to their work and organization.
 
The President welcomed the budget of 2008-09 in which the current Finance Minister has astutely tried to meet the expectations of all the sections of the society. The President emphasized, to look positively to the grant provided to the farmers, as it will lead to growth in agriculture sector, which is currently growing at a snail’s pace. Also, comparing the same with putting together to other subsidies granted, it is a miniscule amount, though he suggested that prudent policies should be framed for providing such situations.
 
The President also welcomed the reduction in income-tax slabs for the salaried people where anyone earning above Rs. 300000-500000 will be able to save between Rs.24000-48000 annually in taxes, all this will fuel the economic growth of the country further.
 
The seminar was well attended by about 300 employees from managerial cadre of NHPC.
