Dr. Ashok Haldia, Secretary, ICAI

Dr. Ashok Haldia is a throughout first class Post Graduate and a fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India and a member of The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. Has more than 20 years of experience of working at senior positions in Financial Institutions and with the Government of Rajasthan. His experience includes Project Financing, Industrial Finance Policy, Industrial Survey, Accounts and Taxation, Public Sector Policy, Evaluation and Management, Power Sector Financing and Policy, Public Sector and Power Sector Reforms and Restructuring, etc. He has completed his Doctorate on the topic of "Privatisation of Public Enterprises in India".


He has contributed number of articles in the leading newspapers, professional journals, national and international conferences. He was a member of various committees constituted by the Government of Rajasthan and Government of India and also Secretary to the High Level Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Naresh Chandra by the Department of Company Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Company Affairs to suggest a scientific and rational regulatory environment for companies/firms. He is also Member Secretary of the Group constituted by the Department of Company Affairs, Government of India on GATS related issues. He had been the faculty member in number of management and training institutions.


He is Technical Advisor on IFAC Board and on IFAC SMPs Task Force. He is also the Permanent Secretary of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). He is also the Secretary to the National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards constituted by the Department of Company Affairs, Ministry of Law, Justice & Company Affairs, Government of India.
