Organisations of Practical Training for the Post Qualification Course in 'International Trade Laws & World Trade Organisation'

Attention of the members (who have joined the Post Qualification Course in International Trade Laws and World Trade Organisation) is invited to the requirements of Paragraph 14 of the Notification No. 1-CA(7)/64A/2003 in Part III Section 4 of the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) dated 4.12.2003 for the Post Qualification Course in International Trade Laws and World Trade Organisation, whereby a candidate can register himself for Part II (Practical Training) after qualifying in the Part I Examination of the Course by submitting an application in the approved form. Practical training has been specified for a period of 30 (thirty) days. For further details on practical training requirements, please refer the FAQs available in the prospectus of the Course as well as at the website http://www.icai.org.

The candidates for the Course have already been advised to identify the organizations for the practical training, on their own, as per the criteria of organizations specified for the purpose (criteria available in the prospectus for the Course) by the Committee on Trade Laws & WTO. The training organisation shall have to be got approved from the Committee on Trade Laws & WTO before the start of the training. The payment of stipend for the practical training, if any, shall be as per the mutual agreement/understanding between the trainer and trainee. A complete record of the practical training shall be required to be maintained by the Candidates of the Course. Specified Formats for record and report of training are available at:

The Committee on Trade Laws and WTO has also been approaching various organistions in order to facilitate members in this regard. The details of such suggestive organizations, who have agreed till now, to impart practical training to candidates of this Course are:-

About EIC

Training can be organized by EIC through their Offices at Chennai/Delhi/Kolkata/Kochi/Mumbai for a maximum of 5 candidates at each of the locations as per their need.
The training would be organized twice a year from November 15 - December 14 and from May 15 -June 13 (these dates may be changed as per the discretion of EIC). Interested candidates are advised to forward their bio-data, for the consideration of EIC, to ICAI at the address mentioned (at the end) on or before:
- October 10 - In case they wish to join Nov-Dec training session of corresponding year
- April 10 - In case they wish to join May-June training session of corresponding year
The choice of city at which training is sought should be clearly mentioned in the application for training.There will not be any training fee and no accommodation and local transport would be provided.

It may be mentioned that the selection of candidates for the aforesaid training shall be made by the concerned organizations based on their needs/requirements and their decision in this regard shall be final and binding. Further, the training would be undergone as per the terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the concerned organizations.

The above list is only a suggestive list of organizations that have agreed to provide practical training to the candidates of this Course till now. Any changes in the above list would be kept hosted from time to time. The candidates are, however, advised, in their own interest, to identify the organizations for practical training, on their own, as per the criteria for the organizations already specified for the purpose.

Bio-data (in hard as well as soft form) alongwith an application, mentioning therein your name, address, membership number, ITL & WTO Regn.
