Path breaking changes in Indian CA course
CA course can be done in the middle east

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is going global, with the decision of the Institute allowing students to take Chartered Accountancy course abroad. The President of the Institute, CA Ved Jain, announced that henceforth Members of the Institute residing abroad and holding certificate of Practice can train students in their respective countries. He added that the Institute will soon launch an International C. A. course covering curriculum to suit the needs of the respective countries or regions. The first step will be to develop a curriculum suitable to the students in the middle east region. The President was addressing the members of the Kuwait Chapter of the Institute in Kuwait.

The President also spoke of the many path breaking decisions recently taken by the Central Council of the Institute.

In view of the huge shortage of skilled accountants in India and abroad, the Institute is launching an ‘Accounting Technician” course, which will be of one year duration. The students have to qualify the Common Proficiency Test of the Institute to enroll and undergo one year training and 100 hrs of computer training, thereafter they will sit for the qualifying examination.

The President announced that the Institute is launching residential course centers in Jaipur and Hyderabad by creating a center for excellence, where the members and students will undergo a three month personality and communication development course. This, he believes, will enhance the profile of the members. He also added that the Institute has also launched satellite based coaching classes to the students using Gyan darshan 2 channel.

He also added that the Institute recently invested Rs. 8 crores in 118 Computer Labs across India where members and students are provided training to improve their computer skills. The Institute is also planning to conduct online examinations which will be of great benefit to students across the globe.
